060411 Graduation
It feels weird now that it's over but here are some pictures from graduation:

Tilde and I before graduation

Taking pretty pictures

Me, Tilde, Crystal and Beth

Crystal, Tilde and Me

Me, Austin and Tilde

Utside Whiting

Brandon, Tilde, Me and James

Me, Beth, Tilde and Austin

Jordan and Me
That is all you get from graduation because reading about it will probably not be that fun anyway.
But it was a fun day that I will always remember.

6th Hour - Both Semesters
I had paint and draw the first semester and sketch and draw the last semester.
It was basically the same though because I had the same classroom and the same teacher, Ms. Williams.
The first semester though there was people in all ages in the class while the last semester was only me and freshmen and that can be a bit annoying because they are so immature.
I was allowed the last semester though to do whatever I wanted so I could go in to the class next to mine and do clay projects and I thought that that was a lot of fun.

My clay projects.

5th Hour - Both Semesters
English 11.
Since I am a senior I was supposed to have Senior English but in the counseling office or the office they decided it would be easier for us (the foreign exchange students) to have Junior English because then we don't have to do the Senior project which takes up a lot of time and goes on for like a whole semester.
Anyway, in English I have read Hamlet, Frankenstein and Lord of the Flies. It was nice to read books that are classics and that I have been wanting to read anyway.
We have also done a lot of essays, and that have not always been so much fun because the school are in this program, Collin's writing, that has a lot of regulations and rules for writing essays that make little sense for anyone.
I didn't always lke English because it was my most difficult subject. I do think that it made my English way better than it was before and that it has been good for me.
That's all I have on English.

4th Hour - Both Semesters
Mr. Hall!
To a Kearsley student that says everything.
We had walks outside to explore "The new country" and we stopped to pray to the great cell phone tower. We also sat outside one ay to write down whatever came to mind, and another day we went outside to go out and try to measure out an acre and after the we went in the draw it.
We also had art fridays when we colored "pretty pictures" that was like in color books. All you had to do was fill in the picture with crayon.
And some days you could come in to the class and read the plan for the day on the board that stated "watch stupid movie."
Seriously, we did do some work but that was easy.
The last day Mr. Hall had bought me cake as well. Really nice and delicious.
One special day was the day when two students that were not part of our class came in scraming and then playing dead on the floor during our class. Then one student got up and dragged the other student out. This was two of Mr. Hall's pshycology students that did this to see how people reacted. Apparently Mr. Hall had sent people out to other teacher's classes before but he had gotten complaints.
Oh, another funny thing, Mr. Halls dress up at times. One day he wore German leiderhosen or whatever they are called and once he was on rollerblades, with a cape and in a clown wig. He has also worn a traditional muslim outfit (to which a parent called and complained).
Oh, my subject? World history.

This is Mr. Hall after a previous one of his classes had done face painting that day.
He's really an awesome teacher!

3rd Hour - Both Semesters
In my third hour I had Team Sports with Mr. Lints.
This class always starts with warm ups. At that time you stand in lines (in alphabetic order) and on Mr. Lints mark you go to the other side of the gym going what he just yelled at you to do. And each day it was the exact same things in the same order (with a few exceptions when he forgot something). It was:
"High knees, go!"
"Back"
"Buttkickers, go!"
"Back"
"Shuffle, go!"
"Back"
"ChereokA, go!"
"Back"
"Three-quarter speed, go!"
"Back"
"Full speed, go!"
"Back"
Every day the same routine. Fun, fun. Anyway. In team sports we tried flag football, lacrosse, soccer, swimming (even though the only rule was that we had to be in the pool), speedball, dodgeball (best sport we did), basketball, badminton, speedminton, volleyball, ruffleball and kickball.
For the most part it was fun and I liked it but then we had some horrible weeks, like the volleyball ones. Volleyball is a bigger sport in America so I was really bad in comparison and to be honest I'm usually good at sports so it sucked.
Dodgeball went really well however. My teacher was a bit old-fashion, we would call it, and played girls get double points at some games because the girls never played. I did show him that girls can play as well by being one of the girls that did not stand there waiting to be hit by the ball (which is very pathetic).
That's team sports for you!
Oh, I liked Mr. Lints too. He's forcing people that doesn't behave to do pushups so you saw that a couple of times every day.

2nd Hour - This Semester
This semester I had Mr. Smith again but this time the subject was geology - the study of rocks. I think it was a good subject and this semester was by far better because Mathilde had the class with me so we had fun together.
The work was not hard and here and there, for example when we had a sub, we got to watch Mythbusters which was always a welcomed change.
We also watched a dokumentary called Gasland which I found interesting.
That's about it for geology.

2nd Hour - Last Semester
My second hour last semester was Ecology with Mr. Smith. It was fine, I had some smaller panic attacts in the beginning of the year thinking that I might not be able to handle that subject but as it turns out I already knew a lot about it.
However that classroom was the coldest classroom in the entire school and it was really painful being in there during the winter because you almost froze to death.
Another good advantage, it was right next to my locker that is placed in the far end of the science wing. This meant that I could use my locker once a day because apart from this class I had no classroom close enought that made it possible for me to get to my locker before the 5 minute break was over.

1st Hour - This Semester
As of this semester I no longer had Political Science my first hour. Instead I had criminology which is when you study law and crimes. I found that subject very interesting as well.
Instead of quote of the day we had word of the day for extra credit points and the two best real words I learned were:
Hobbledehoy
Milk toast
And they are not a compliment. The opposite really.
We did a lot of work in the book we got and that was answering question that we got in the beginning of class. If you didn't finish in class it was homework. I must admit that I did not like this because I found out that I work extremely slow and when it said explain I was the only one to do that, almost.
Anyway, I got a good grade so I'm happy. I got over 100% - Yes, it is possible.
Then we also got to watch movies or documentaries almost every Friday and the last three days for the seniors was spent watching the Shawshank Redemption.
I also learned that Scandinavian countries have a very high crime rate. Go figure.
That's all I got for now, except a picture of a poster in the classroom:

1st Hour - Last Semester
I was thinking that I might explain what my classes have been like now that I am out of school and all, and have some time left over today - since I have nothing to do.
1st Hour last semester was Political Science which by far is the best class that I have ever had. It is about the American government and I find that subject very interesting and I had the best teacher ever, Mr. Nester.
It was a lot of work, we did Notebook guides ever week which consists of all the homework for an entire chapter put together.
Every day we also had a Quote of the day that you could write down if you wanted extra credit in the end of the semester.
I did very well in this class and I got the Honors Award for it. So I was the top af all the students taking Poli Sci as it was called that semester.
Every day you could also get:
"Did you get that?"
"Catching what I'm piching?"
"Not all at one, just one hand to get me started" (When no one raised their hand to answer questions)
Because these where sentences that Mr. Nester used ALL the time.
And then he pretended to play golf in the classroom as well, one of his big interests.
Here are some pictures of the classroom and my notebook guide that I decided to give to Mr. Nester:

That was my first hour last semester, you will hear of my other classes at a later time.

050711 - Prom
Prom was a lot of fun and there are lots of pictures on my facebook but I will put a few up here on the blog as well.

Guess who?

All the girls at Kathryn's house.

All the guys.

Austin and I.

I lied before, Beth was not in the "All the girls" photo. She came later.

042911 Chicago day four
This day was spent in the Art Institute of Chicago and when we realized that the weather what somewhat good compared to the rest of the week we hurried off to SkyDeck but before that we went to Millenium park and the Bean which is famous in Chicago.

Just after the art museum on the bridge to Millenium Park

The Bean

Mathilde and I looking at our own reflection in the Bean

Find Mathilde and I...

SkyDeck where you go out right over the street like 100 stories up

It wasn't scary though, just a lot of people trying to take photos

Mathilde
¨
It was a nice view from there even though it was a bit foggy
This was a really nice day as well even though we had to stress a bit. The CityPass came in valuable as well this day too though because instead of the one hour line that was expected to get up to SkyDeck we got a fast pass ticket and was in and up at the observation deck in 5 minutes.

Oh, this is the last of chicago in the blog for the next day was just a tiny bit of shopping and then a 6 hour trainride.

042911 Chicago day three
This day was dedicated to the Museum of Science and Industry and the was needed because the museum was huge and there was a lot to do there. It was a really cool museum though and if you want to see everything there you need more than one day. But Mathilde and I tried to get to the highlights of the museum and I think we did pretty good. In the end we also got tickets for the IMAX show thanks to our CityPass.

The museums airplane part, tickets to a flight stimulator was also included in the CityPass and it was really fun

A view of some of the museum

Mathilde playing with air

The lightning in the ceiling, sounded a lot but it was cool to see

Me in a human hamster wheel

A German submarine from WW2

As I said a lot of things to do

Me in fromt of the stimulated tornado

The chicken hatchery, they were so cute and just born
That was the museum of Science and Industry and it was a really fun but long day. In the evening we went out to eat at the cheesecake factory and it was really good food there and the cheesecake was even more wonderful.

042811 Better late than never - Chicago day two
I will not do pictures for the first day in Chicago because all we did was walking to Navy Pier and took some pictures of the city. Day two was way more fun with the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum as well as Blue Man Group.

Stingrays at Shedds Aquarium

A cool snake

The dead-looking turtle

The most awesome fish there

The dolphin show

Tilde and Lisa decided to see the 4D show

Sue the dinosaur

Lisa's home for the year

Blue Man from the Blue Man Group
That was a short review of the second day in Chicago. For more pictures see my facebook album.
